The first time I saw this band live, was YEARS ago. Probably back in 2007, when my friend Jarrod told me to come down to this record store called The Sound (they would do shows and stuff as well) and check out this band. I took Jarrod up on his offer, and to this day, never looked back. They had that groove, and to this day (despite a band member leaving and a couple of relocations) they still have that groove as a power trio.
They blend the complexity of progressive rock (best genre ever in the encyclopedia by me), and a sound that takes you to a whole nother world! Through the changes, they only seem to get better, and more complex. As an added bonus, CHECK OUT THE BEARD ON THE BASSIST! Jack is one helluva bassist, and shreds like a modern day Geddy Lee (of famed Canadian rock ambassadors, Rush). Here is a prime example;
HOLY HELL ARE YOU WATCHING WHAT I’M WATCHING! YOU BETTER BE, AND YOUR FACE BETTER BE MELTED ALL OVER YOUR KEYBOARD FROM THAT BASS, AND INTERTWINING GUITAR RIFFAGE WITH THAT DRUM! IT IS AS IF I HAD EMERGED FROM MY VILLA STRANGIATO ONTO THE MOGUL STREET!
The Guitar playing is a very nice companion to everything going on with this triumvirate of power, especially with the harmonized vocals going on with some of these songs! Everything is just so polished when it comes to this band that its hard NOT to like them!
Do you folks want an added Mr. Niceguy bonus?
BAM! THERE YOU GO! THREE SONG EP! AND I HAVE VERIFIED (after countless listens to and from class) THAT IT IS AWESOME! It is also name your own price, but give these guys a couple bucks so they can continue putting on amazing shows, (every time I have seen them, they have performed to such perfection!) PLUS they are all super cool guys!!!!
Ya know what? Here is another live video! Trust me, this is a great band, that is surprisingly not bigger. So listen, get the word out, and if you are in the Atlanta, GA area, check em out if they are playing because seriously…. just do it. Don’t make me resort to online bullying (because its all the rage?)
Crack a cold one, buy the EP, and prepare to move to a place called Mogul Street Reserve.
P.S. I still have The Truth EP from 2007 ish in my car, and YES it still gets regular play along with the new stuff!
