Smooth Sax of the Week

I’ve been featuring musicians from New Zealand all day, so I figured it only seemed right to make this week’s Smooth Sax an offering from New Zealand. Fat Freddy’s Drop is an awesome band that heavily makes use of horns. The result is a nice blend of reggae, soul, and jazz. Flashback can be found on Fat Freddy’s Drop’s 2005 album, Based on a True Story. Much like a lot of great saxophone jams, the instrument doesn’t make its appearance until later in the song. However, when the sax does come in, it really steals the show. Enjoy below.
