60's, alt country, dominique pruitt, pop, to win your love

Dominique Pruitt – To Win Your Love

Ever wondered what sun-soaked, upbeat, modernized early ’60s pop might sound like with a bit of an alt country flair? Yeah, it’s not really a combination I’ve ever tried to imagine either. Fortunately for us, Dominique Pruitt has grown up with more musical influences than you can shake a stick at, and she pulls off pairing the two styles flawlessly. By the way, that stick shaking phrase has never really made any sense to me, but I’ve been looking for an excuse to use it in a post for the longest time. Anyway, most of Dominique’s earlier songs are all the acoustic singer/songwriter type, but her new single, To Win Your Love, completely shows off her talent thanks to some super fun, nicely polished production. You can never go wrong with excessive hand claps and tambourines, and To Win Your Love is loaded with them. This is the first sample of Dominique’s upcoming debut album, and strictly based off of this one song, it’s sure to be a good time.
