Visitor – Coming Home

Visitor has been on a roll leading up to their September 10th EP release. Two weeks ago, the London based duo dropped a striking promo video for the Coming Home/RNB EP. Then, last week, Visitor offered up a full stream of RNB, a dystopian-like work of dark synth pop. Now, we get to hear the other single off of the EP, Coming Home. This song is a serious jam on all levels. Coming Home is filled with pulsing percussion, glistening synths, and an anthem-like chorus that’s almost heartbreaking. Really, what more could you ask for? Coming Home is the essence of pop music. Like John Cusack states in High Fidelity, “What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?” Sorry. High Fidelity just came out on blu ray. It’s fresh on my mind. Visitor’s Coming Home//RNB EP is set to drop September 10th, and will contain remixes from Lifelike, Viceroy, FM Attack, Bestrack, Symbolone, and Vanguard & Easy D.
